Cincinnati Marathon
Cincinnati is the third largest of Ohio. The city is famous for its rich cultural traditional life style. As it is founded in 1788 and the name Cincinnati came from an organization of war officers mainly civil war officers who took part in many revolutionary services in United States. The city is rich not only in cultural activities but also with the natural beauty as it is surrounded with attractive hill stations, and River Ohio. After the Germans settlement, choral and orchestral music began to grow. Cincinnati, in 1802, has only 750 residents the major development was done in 19th century. The city’s population gradually increases with the increment in the living facilities. Before 1850 it is the largest city in Midwest and now it is the third largest city of Ohio. The city has its major occupational activities at the port of Ohio River and it is included in major market place of mid west.
The city is also famous for its meat market especially red meat, many people of Cincinnati are associated with the business of meat packing and due to this reason Cincinnati city is also called porkpolis. Beer garden and European breweries are also a prominent features of traditional Cincinnati life. The speed of growth increases in the middle of 20th century but the progress and development continue to grow with moderate rate and there was no sudden and dynamic changes made in the city development. The city has a good repute of good governance and fair government since 1920. Due to the 2nd world war its population decreased however after the settlement of many European refugees and Native American from the surrounding of the Ohio now its population growth rate is satisfactory.
The blacks and white from southern side migrated to the city and now the blacks share the population of the city about, 33.8 percentage. Cincinnati annual growth rate income and other social reforms is not considered as model but if it is compared with the other mid west cities than it is included in most civilized and developing cities of that region. The city has well established infrastructure of heavy machinery vehicle manufacturing units. It has also the headquarters of Proctor and Gamble, Kroger and Chiquita brand of banana. Besides the business activities Cincinnati city is also very popular in sports activities. There are many stadiums and sports arenas available there; over there gambling bars are also very famous places.
The city has organized Cincinnati marathon every year which is the famous and largest long distance running event of the Midwest Cities. Marathon race and other endurance sports are very famous through out the city and marathon training centers and other endurance sports clubs can be seen every where in the city. Cincinnati marathon is annual marathon which is organized in the first week of May as in this season the weather is very fine and suitable for marathon race. Cincinnati Marathon is not the single event to organize and run, there are also many activities associated with this marathon. There are many activities and parties arranged by the locals to entertain the entire family for the whole week parties like: pasta dinner, pump ‘n run, packet pick up, marathon week party, post race party, brunch, piglet fun run, kid’s marathon, four person relay, hope and personality run, special event for wheel chair, etc. Thus Cincinnati marathon is not only meant for the runners but it gives complete entertainment for not to the entire family of viewer but also is a great recreation for runner’s family.
